Research from information security company Clearswift has shown that links within emails are perceived as posing the biggest cyber threat to UK businesses, with 59% of business decision makers highlighting this as a chief concern for businesses, far more than any other threat.

New research by leading information security company Clearswift has shown how attitudes to cyber security have changed in the boardroom and among staff in the wake of the recent WannaCry attack. 600 senior business decision makers and 1,200 employees across the UK, US, Germany and Australia were interviewed following the events.

As enterprises become larger, managing employee behaviour becomes harder and the risk of a breach occurring within an organisation intensifies. Companies are aware the threat looms large, with 40% of firms expecting a data breach in the next 12 months, as a result of employee behaviour and employees indicating widespread lack of awareness of good cyber security practice.

Research released today by Clearswift, the global cyber-security company, highlights the top three concerns of individuals working in the UK public sector when it comes to information security. The iGov ‘Managing Information Security’ report was commissioned by Clearswift to investigate the attitudes of those working for public sector organisations (PSOs).
