Clearswift is led by a highly experienced Executive Team that combines decades of experience and knowledge with technical, financial and operational skillsets. The united Clearswift Leadership Team has steered the global organization to fast-tracked growth and financial success for over 6 years through driving a high performance and collaborative culture into the world-wide operation, putting a strong focus on customer retention as well as technology development and innovation.

Clearswift became the products division of the RUAG Cyber Security business unit in December 2017 which combined its world-leading cyber security and DLP product portfolio with RUAG’s range of advanced cyber security services. Majority of the Executive Leadership Team now play a pivotal role in leading and growing the new RUAG Cyber Security business unit in the EMEA region.

Chief Executive Officer

Heath is an international CEO and investor with a particular expertise in driving substantial revenue growth by building strategic customer/partner engagements that deliver real advantage. Heath joined Clearswift in October 2012 bringing with him a wealth of experience in compliance, data and analytics. He has worked in senior roles within multi-national conglomerates in the UK, Mainland Europe, North America, Australia, Vietnam, China, India and South Africa.

Before joining Clearswift, Heath was CEO of Alterian PLC, a market leader in big data analytics. During his time there, he led the successful transition and sale of the business to SDL PLC (lon:SDL) in 2012. Prior to Alterian PLC, Heath was at Sword Group (EPA:SWP) where he oversaw the profitable growth of the company from £25m to £150m over nine years.  Heath holds a BEng (Hons) from University of Greenwich (London), is a UK Engineering Council Scholarship winner and has attended executive education programmes at London Business School and Ashridge Management School.

Dr Guy Bunker

Chief Technology Officer

Guy is an internationally renowned IT expert with 25 years’ experience in information security and IT management. Before joining Clearswift in October 2012, Guy was a Global Security Architect for HP. He has recently authored a paper on security for the Elsevier Information Security Technical Report and co-authored the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA) report on cloud security. Previously, Guy was Chief Scientist for Symantec and CTO of the Application and Service Management Division at Veritas (acquired by Symantec).

Guy is a frequently invited speaker at conferences, including RSA, EuroCloud and InfoSec and has made many appearances as an IT expert on television, radio and in the press. He is a board advisor for several small technology businesses and has published books on utility computing, backup and data loss prevention. He holds a number of US patents and is a Chartered Engineer with the IET.

Joe Roffey

Chief Financial Officer

Joe joined Clearswift in 2012, initially as Head of FP&A, before being promoted to VP Business Finance & Systems in 2014, and Chief Financial Officer in 2018. He has worked in software for 20 years and held various senior finance management roles for public and private equity backed organizations where he helped drive profitable growth. Joe’s experience spans across due diligence projects for a number of successful transactions, post-merger integration, rollout of high-quality budgeting/management reporting and negotiation of global customer and supplier contracts. Most recently, Joe played a key role in the transaction process that resulted in the sale of Clearswift to RUAG and now manages finance activities for both Clearswift and the global RUAG cyber business unit.

Before joining Clearswift, Joe worked for SmartStream Technologies, SeeBeyond and Oracle. He is a member of the Clearswift Senior Executive Leadership Team, a qualified accountant and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Ciaran Rafferty

Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Ciaran joined Clearswift in 2014 as SVP WW Sales. A Sales and Channel professional with over 20 years in the IT industry, Ciaran’s specializes in building and developing effective Go to Market models enabling sales and channel ecosystems to work effectively so as to add value to customers.

Committed to offering customer excellence and maximizing customer retention, Ciaran has a track record of delivering value to customers and partners across the globe. He defines and drives a coherent sales strategy that ensures customer satisfaction through the global sales organization and our valued partner network.  Before joining Clearswift, Ciaran held a number of senior management positions with companies such as Dun & Bradstreet, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, SAP, Sophos and Proofpoint.

Dat Thrower

Senior Vice President, Customer Services

Dat joined Clearswift in 2011 as Global Director of Customer Services. A Support and Services professional with over 20 years in service delivery roles, Dat has vast experience in building and developing effective technical service teams, leading geographically dispersed service organizations and successfully managing the transition of service delivery functions across technology changes.

Within Clearswift, Dat is responsible for defining and driving a coherent services strategy that drives customer satisfaction through the delivery of professional, value-add service offerings.  Before joining Clearswift, Dat held a number of senior management positions within companies providing both traditional on-premise and SaaS solutions in the fields of CRM, document management and talent acquisition, with responsibility for technical support and professional services organizations.

Julie Gordon

Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Julie joined Clearswift in 2018 from Nuance Communications, a global technology enterprise where she held a number of HR roles including HR Director for the Global Communication Services Provider (CSP) business. Julie’s HR experience spans across leading mergers and acquisitions (from due diligence through to integration and harmonisation), driving culture, engagement and change throughout organisations, as well as implementing best practice operating standards and compliance. Julie led multiple teams whilst working as part of a Corporate HR organisation within an incubated operating model. Her HR knowledge and experience is global and covers countries throughout EMEA, LATAM, North America and Asia Pacific.

Prior to Nuance, Julie worked in both specialist and Business Partnering roles for Vodafone and Sophos focussing on talent acquisition, talent management, succession planning, development, international relocation and organisational change.
