Technotes |
NAVIGATION
The technotes can be found on the Support drop-down menu or from the
Support homepage. This comprehensive online resource is available to
Support customers only.
PURPOSE
The technotes are written by our Global Support Teams and cover installation
and configuration problem diagnosis and resolution. The extensive library
of technical data can help to resolve known issues quickly.
SEARCH
The technotes work on a standard numbering system and can be searched
directly by number or phrase. In addition, they
can also be searched by product name and version number to help you
find the information you want instantly.

My
Support |
NAVIGATION
The My Support area can either be accessed from the Membership Center
or (once logged into the Support site), from the left hand column of
each page. Alternatively there is a link on the Support homepage.
PURPOSE
My Support is an area dedicated to show Support customers an overview
of the status of their account. It details the current Support certificate
information, any current evaluations and the direct URLs for the spamActive
datafeed, as well as reminders of the latest patches and discussion
board threads.

Latest
Patches & Upgrades |
NAVIGATION
The Patch page and information can be accessed from a number of places;
the Support drop-down menu, the Support homepageand the My Support page
(Membership Center).
PURPOSE
The Patches & Upgrades pages are to keep all current and evaluating
customers up-to-date with all the latest product enhancements and fixes.
SEARCH
The patches for the main products are often listed, with a link to the
full menu and archive separately. If the product you have is not listed,
please click on the Archive link.
LISTINGS
The listings for the patches consist of the relevant product name, the
Patch ID number, a release date and description. Each patch has a download
and a ReadMe. Please note: the ID numbers are changing from (e.g.) 5.0.8
to a 5 digit number (e.g.) 12936.
KEY:
signifies the download link and
signifies the ReadMe file.

To help you understand the licensing and deployment options for MIMEsweeper
for SMTP 5.0, this page has been designed to take you through various
scenarios. There are a number of documents and demos that explain how

Discussion Boards |

The Public Discussion Boards are available to anyone and are linked
to from the Support drop-down menu and homepage.
PURPOSE
To enable people to discuss their MIMEsweeper or Specialist Product
installations, problems or concerns and benefit from a wealth of knowledge
from over 14,000 members! Members include Clearswift
staff, management and our customers and partners.
HOW TO JOIN

WHAT IS THREATLAB?
As the name suggests, our ThreatLab team of specialists researches and
monitors potential threats 24 hours a day, advising and forewarning
customers as and when dangers occur. In addition, we provide you with
the Technotes and tools needed to configure your security products against
new threats. ThreatLab consists of:
THREATLAB (Open to all)
An email alert service only sending timely alerts about the latest and
emerging threats, such as viruses. In addition, the Threat News Blog
is also open to all for informative and interesting articles and opinions
from Pete Simpson, our ThreatLab Manager.
THREATLAB ACTIVE
This is the area of ThreatLab restricted to Support customers only.
Customers can benefit from the monitoring of emerging threats 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week and receive up-to-the-minute alert and solution
emails with
information about new and existing threats. There is also a comprehensive
library of hints and tips as well as Technotes and tools.

This
part of ThreatLab is for Support customers who have MIMEsweeper for
SMTP 5.0.
Rather than relying on the manual receiving, reading and implementing
of the ThreatLab Active alerts, ThreatLab LIVE! offers the automatic
download of managed lists, direct to your MIMEsweeper. These managed
lists include the anti-spam datafeed, checksums, expression lists and
scripts.
To sign up for these automatic downloads, simply choose
and tell us a password for your product to access our systems. (see
screenshot) Then set that password in your product's setup (instructions
available on the same page).

This area is separated from the rest of the
Support Center, as it is an independent community of MIMEsweeper
customers, run by an independent committee, whose aim is to ensure that
its subscribers get access to the information, knowledge, tools and
people required to carry out their content security responsibilities
effectively and efficiently.
HOW TO JOIN
There is an annual subscription fee for MUF Membership which includes:
- Attendance to the 2 day annual content
security conference
- Access to the password protected MIMEsweeper
User Forum website.
- The opportunity to network with other
MIMEsweeper users and content security experts
- Information about exciting developments
in the MIMEsweeper family of content security products
- The opportunity to attend product specific

Beta
Programs |
| The
Clearswift Beta Programs are available for current Support customers
only to ensure members are familiar with our products and surrounding
technologies.
NAVIGATION
The Beta Program registration is only available from the Support homepage.
HOW DO I BECOME INVOLVED?
If you hold a current Support contract, simply register your interest
using the form provided. You will be contacted as and when beta programs
are made available and asked to sign a beta agreement form.
WHAT WOULD I HAVE TO DO?
When the beta starts simply download and install the software and then
send us your feedback via the beta forum and share your thoughts with
other beta members.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF PARTICIPATING?
The beta forums benefit from full participation from the Clearswift
Engineering, Product Management and Technical Support teams. So, with
the beta you obtain an early preview of the next release, and via the
beta forum you get to converse directly to those within Clearswift involved
in supporting, developing, and setting the roadmap of the MIMEsweeper
product suite. This provides you with a great opportunity to get those
in-depth technical questions answered, and pass on your specific needs
in relation to requirements for future releases.

Active |

ThreatLab Active is the "active" element of the ThreatLab
service that is available to Supported customers only. Customers can
access all areas of the ThreatLab website, from the alert archives to
the resource library. In the Support drop-down menu, you can click on
ThreatLab (to visit the homepage) or hover over the
sub-menu that appears and select your area of choice.

Anti-spam
Services |
The Anti-spam
Services are available to all Supported customers who have MIMEsweeper
for SMTP 5.0 or MAILsweeper for SMTP 4.3. The MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.0
services are now part of ThreatLab LIVE! and can be downloaded automatically
along with other managed lists.
NAVIGATION
The Anti-spam Services are available from the main Support drop-down
menu and homepage as well as from within ThreatLab LIVE!.
PURPOSE
Clearswift's anti-spam filter harvests thousands of spam examples on
a daily basis from global seed accounts, and accumulates these in a
single database. This global database of spam terms and subject lines
is extracted daily and placed online for ClearSupport customers to automatically
download. Any incoming emails that match the latest spam profiles, immediately
trigger the anti-spam policy, effectively blocking unsolicited email.
Unlike other vendors, Clearswift offer this
value added service as part of the standard ClearSupport package.

ThreatLab
LIVE! |

Avoid having to manually update your system to combat the latest
threats - use ThreatLab LIVE! - delivering ACTIVE protection against
spam, viruses and digital attacks, direct to your MIMEsweeper.
NAVIGATION
ThreatLab LIVE! can be found from the Support main drop-down menu, under
ThreatLab, or from the Support homepage. It is also referenced from
the MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.0 product pages within the main website.
PURPOSE
New in MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.0, proactive Managed List
services:
- Automatic updates by the spamActive datafeed
- Managed Checksums for detection of embedded images
in spam
- Managed Expression Lists for profanity, worms &
hoaxes, scams & spam to name but a few
HOW
TO SIGN UP
Setting your MIMEsweeper for SMTP 5.0 up to receive these automatic
downloads couldn't be easier. Simply choose a password, tell us what
that password is and then set your product up to connect to us. The
ThreatLab LIVE! page explains the process and links to the registration
form (to register your password of choice).
