Service levels are divided at a top logical level into Individual
and Business. These two logical divisions are subdivided into two levels
of service each. Individual breaks down into ‘Essential’ and ‘Personal’
while Business has ‘Standard’ and ‘Enterprise’. The difference between
Business and Individual categories really lies in how the system is configured.
All Service Levels are specific to a single Domain.
The service is provided to users on the following basis
SP - Only available to supplying Service Provider. Not end-user accessible
* - Can be disabled at *SP level
Individual
Individual users do not usually have a registered domain
but are instead members of one of their service provider’s domains. Therefore
the logical service level of Individual caters for users who do not have
their own registered domains. For Individual users the service provider
sets the basic configuration parameters for a domain or domains. Individual
is divided into the levels essential and personal.
Essential
This model is the most appropriate for service providers
who wish to provide the service to an entire domain of their clients
(often as a no-charge benefit). At this service level users under a
particular domain receive AV checking only and the host ISP can attach
a legal disclaimer to the mail.
Personal
Although similar to essential this service level has the
additional features of spam scanning and access to quarantined messages
by the end-users. Personal allows the end users to access information
about mail that has been quarantined by the system. They can choose
to release or delete their mail from the quarantine areas but have no
other method of interacting with the system.
Business
In contrast to Individual, business users will have either
their own registered domain or will have been assigned a specific sub-domain
by their service provider. Businesses subscribing to the e-Sweeper service
have their own Web site, co-branded for both Clearswift and the hosting
service provider to configure the service. Business is divided into the
levels Standard and Enterprise.
Standard
This model is sold on as a value-add service by the service
providers. The standard model allows business users to perform virus
and spam scanning and attach legal disclaimers to their mail. Access
to bypass lists allows fine-tuning of email usage policies on a group
by group basis. Reports can be generated ‘on-the-fly’ or defined for
regular email delivery.
Enterprise
Only business users can opt to signup for the enterprise
service, both the extension of service and subsequent configuration
take place via their host service provider’s branded Web site.
Enterprise has all the features of the Standard Service
Level, plus inappropriate language, encrypted mail and allows sophisticated
checking of mail attachments for executables, images, movies, and documents.
In all cases the services although based on MAILsweeper
are configured via a branded Website. The service provider can opt to
provide all service levels as totally managed in which case they simply
do not inform their subscribers that a configuration Web site exists.
Customer Login Types and Policy Templates
e-Sweeper is the only product of it's type that has the
flexibility to enable you to easily offer extremely tailored solutions
to your business community.
As customers are added to the e-Sweeper system they can
be given three different access rights:
Full
This login level gives the customer administrator full access to the
end-user configuration Web site.
Hosted
The hosted login type gives the customer administrator full policy/reporting/quarantine
access but does not allow them to directly add domains or change their
service level.
Managed
The managed login is the most restrictive giving the user access to
reporting and quarantine only.
In addition to these logins, you are also able to define
policy templates that can be applied to customer domains as they are added
to the system adding value to both you and your customer.
