Clearswift exceeds plan and announces fourth successive profitable quarter
London, 12th October 2010 – Clearswift, the software security company, today announced that billings for the second quarter (July – September 2010) of its current financial year exceeded plan and grew 20% over the same period last year. Significantly, the company also recorded its fourth successive quarter of profitability and eighth successive quarter of sustained growth.
Billings from Clearswift SECURE Web and Email Gateways increased 17% and revenues grew 37% on the same quarter a year ago leading to a 43% increase on the half year.
Richard Turner, Chief Executive, said: “Despite the economic headwind we delivered a very strong performance in both the last quarter and first half of this fiscal year. Excellent sales of our software and award winning Gateway products, best on record renewal rates of support contracts and managed service subscriptions allied with consistent execution across all theatres of operation took us comfortably past last years total and this years plan.”
“Close management of operating expenses along with growth in revenues from our margin rich core technologies has enabled us to deliver EBITDA positive operating results for the past four quarters and, we expect, for the remainder of the current fiscal year.

As Clearswift continues its unrelenting focus on its customers, the company also announced two key appointments. Bob Pritchard takes up the newly created position of Vice President, Americas, having joined Clearswift from security start-up Venafi, following eight years at RSA running worldwide data security sales. Meanwhile Phil Vasic was appointed Sales Director, Asia Pacific, based in Clearswift’s Sydney Offices. Phil joins the company having worked at Meru Networks and SurfControl / Websense.
